Jean Jacques Rousseau

Switzerland - Geneva

Statue Jean-Jacques Rousseau (Rousseau Island). This romantic island named for the Genevan philosopher Jean-Jacques Rousseau is a bastion of serenity amidst the turbulent waters of Le Rhone River. The island contains a bird sanctuary and a restaurant with stunning views of the surrounding cityscape

 :Jean Jacques Rousseau

You are worried about seeing him spend his early years in doing nothing. What! Is it nothing to be happy? Nothing to skip, play, and run around all day long? Never in his life  will he be so busy again

Franz Kafka

Sleeping Beauty

Once Upon A Dream Sleeping Beauty

Once upon a dream....
Who could forget the timeless tale of Sleeping Beauty? The evil curse placed on the beautiul Princess Aurora by the wickedly jealous Maleficent, to which true love's kiss the spell will break!
Disney truly bring this fairytale to life in this everlasting story where true love really does conquer all!
Definately one of my favourites!

Aurora's beautiful song filled the air and drew all the forest creatures to her. Dreaming of romance, she danced with the Owl Prince and then into the arms of the prince of her dreams

A Modern Day Sleeping Beauty

Once upon a time, or so they say, lived a king, a queen, a prince and a newborn princess. They lived a perfect live in the southern region of France, but one day, shortly after the princess had been born; the king grew very ill and died. It was up to the prince to rule the lands now. He was only fourteen and not nearly as ready as people believed him to be, but his mother, the queen, had the utmost confidence in him.
The years passed, and soon the prince was now a thirty-one-year-old king and his little sister, the princess was already seventeen and raving beauty if there ever was one. It was now 1772 and the king of the southern region of France had decided to make an alliance with the northern region, to join the south and the north of France into one whole region. The two kings needed someway to join the two regions and decided to arrange a marriage with the princess of the south to the prince of the north. All they needed now was to introduce the two to each other. "Nicolette! Wait!" shouted poor Ariana trying to catch up with her best friend who was many feet further than she.
"It's not my fault that you're so slow!" joked Nicolette.
"I'll tell my brother on you!" exclaimed Ariana.
"No you won't!" said Nicolette.
"How do you know that?" asked Ariana.
"Because you always threaten me like that, and never do!" joked Nicolette. Nicolette stopped at a nearby bench and waited for her panting friend to catch up.
"That wasn't funny!" said Ariana, panting.
"I thought it was!" teased Nicolette. Ariana sat down on the bench next to Nicolette and stared up at her brother's castle.
"Is something wrong?" asked Nicolette.
"No." lied Ariana.
"You can tell me the truth." Said Nicolette. Ariana said nothing and just pushed back some auburn curls that had fallen into her face.
"Has Henry threatened your mother again?" asked Nicolette.
"Shh! Henry might have people spying us!" snapped Ariana.
"Well then what's wrong?" asked Nicolette, lowering her voice.
"I overheard Henry talking in the study with a messenger from the northern region." Said Ariana.
"So?"
"So, they were talking about arranging a marriage for me."
"What's so wrong with that? Everyone has an arranged marriage." Said Nicolette matter-of-factly. Ariana let out a deep sigh.
"But I don't want an arranged marriage, I want to marry for love or not at all." Said Ariana. Nicolette rolled her big brown eyes.
"Ariana, you're the princess of France, and you're brother is one of the most powerful rulers in all of Europe, I highly doubt you'll get the opportunity to marry for love." Said Nicolette in a teasing sort of tone. Ariana smiled weakly.
"I wish I weren't a princess." mumbled Ariana.
"Do you at least know who you are betrothed to?"
"Yes," said Ariana, "the prince of the northern region."
"Have you ever met him?" asked Nicolette.
"Yes," said Ariana, "I met him about eleven years ago at Henry's grand ball for his twentieth birthday."
"Do you even know his name?"
"No. We really didn't talk. We just had one dance." Said Ariana
"Do you remember what he even looks like?" asked Nicolette. Ariana shook her head.
"I was only six." she said.
"Well you might-" Nicolette was cut off, by the sound of a carriage and many horses pulling up to the castle.
"Oh dear, it's him." Said Ariana nervously. "Nicolette, you must help me."
"Help you with what?" asked Nicolette confused.
"I'm going to run away."

ONCE UPON A DREAM SLEEPING BEAUTY ROMANCE

ONCE UPON A ROMANCE is a song collection of movie highlights for piano from ten of Disney's classic animated films. Including pieces like "When You Wish Upon A Star" from Pinocchio, "Someday My Prince Will Come" from Snow White and "A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes" from Cinderella, these are songs that elicit childhood wonder. Pandolfi's tender touch at the keyboard brings the delightful qualities of the music alive with each keystroke. These songs are about dreams, romance and wishes, and, along with Pandolfi's lavish style are the enchanted carpet that carries us back in time to feel the magic again and again.
